Today is "International, National and Smith Story Sauvignon Blanc Day". There is no other wine that we've produced over the years that has received more attention and TLC than our Sauvignon Blanc. The new 2022 Smith Story Sauvignon Blanc represents the very best SB we've ever bottled. We mean this with all our heart. Our Smith Story Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma County continues to be our #1 selling wine by volume each year and the 2022 Savvy B is well on it's way. Behind the scenes.
Throughout the years we've worked with family owned vineyard in the Knights Valley, Russian River Valley and Sonoma Mountain AVAs. The backstory on each is worth telling in person. This grape has become a darling of the wine world and the business behind the farming and selling is as cut-throat as we've ever experienced in our wine career. Costs are up due to labor and organic farming coupled with glass/labels/corks and shipping costs. New vineyard owners who can afford to buy a vineyard are now only selling fruit to other wealthy winemakers. We continue to get knocked down, but remain focused and determined. Each day Smith Story wines sit in a warehouse and not in the hands of our loyal supporters the costs also rise. It's an unimaginable challenging time for small DIY wineries like us.

The 2022 Smith Story Sauvignon Blanc began releasing on March 1. As of May 1 inventory is still solid, but is gaining speed as the wine is opened and enjoyed.
