Sonoma County Vintner Makes her 2021 “BRAVE” Carbonic Wine Debut in Texas
Native Fort Worth Texan, Baylor University Alumna, Ali Smith Story featured at DFW Central Market
Healdsburg, CA, April 3, 2023 – Ali Smith Story, Co-Founder and Vintner of Smith Story Wine Cellars of Sonoma County, California is pouring her inaugural BRAVE Carbonic Syrah in North Texas in North Texas Central Market stores Thursday through Friday.
“I made this very special wine during my battle with breast cancer during harvest 2021, complete with foot-treading wearing new water-proof gear in the cellar”, says Ali Story. “The BRAVE, it’s a game changer for Smith Story Wine Cellars, much like my diagnosis was. Today I’m cancer free and this wine is reminder to me and to many women who’ve stayed BRAVE during their own breast cancer battle.
The 2021 Smith Story, “BRAVE”, Carbonic Syrah received top accolades “100 Amazing Wines by the Press Democrat”. A special whole-cluster wine made by natural carbonic maceration technique in the winery. An old-world wine making process that results in fresh red wine and served chilled.
“TexaCali Ali” founded and managed her sales and marketing firm TexaCali Wine Co. for many years based in Austin, Texas. “I had the honor of helping world-class wineries from all over the world who were also independent, and family owned like Smith Story Wine Cellars. To be back in Texas representing a wine that is so significant to me is surreal. The BRAVE wine is made in very small batch, so Texas is the only state outside of California who received allocations. I trust that it’s in good hands at Central Market, it deserves an enthusiastic wine staff to continue to tell the story behind the wine.
